About Jerry L. Wender, DDS
Like most guys, I like fixing things. My love of science, art, people, and learning led me in the direction of dentistry. I found that I could live my dream by becoming a dentist. I discovered very early that dentistry became a passion. I remember going back after several years to the dental school and discussing with the Dean how excited I was about my chosen profession. At this stage of my career, I find myself even more excited about dentistry, because I know that I am providing a higher standard of care. I always say that the day I stop learning, is the day I retire and I am not about to quit learning! I am originally from Fort Worth, Texas. I came to Houston in 1971 to attend The University of Texas Dental Branch and this has been my home ever since. I have been in practice since 1975. I am a member of The Texas Dental Society, The Greater Houston Dental Society, The American Dental Society, The Academy of Laser Dentistry and The Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity. I am active in several study clubs including The Southwest Academy of Comprehensive Dentistry and The Seattle Study Club. These organizations meet regularly and provide a platform for doctors, in varied areas of dentistry, to come together and share ideas and information. I feel that education and learning should be a lifelong pursuit. I have been married since 1974. My wife and I have three wonderful children and became proud grandparents to Max, in 2007 and, Abby in 2011.
