About Jennifer S. Landy, MD
Dr. Landy is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She performs Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Eyelids, Lacrimal System and Face. Dr. Landy is part of a small percentage of surgeons in the United States with training in ophthalmology, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery. Ophthalmic plastic surgery deals with diseases affecting the eyelids, tear ducts, muscles and nerves surrounding the eye and the bones of the eye socket. Dr. Landy graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as an Economics and Pre-Medicine major. She continued her medical education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where she graduated Cum Laude. She then went on to do a General Surgery internship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Landy completed her Ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida where she served as Chief Resident. She then received Oculoplastic training at the Older and Slonim Eyelid Institute. She received additional training specializing in facial cosmetic surgery and liposuction surgery. Dr. Landy is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and won the 1999 Charles L. Wisseman Jr. Award for Excellence in Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. Landy is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Landy has over ten years of experience in health care. In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Landy has contributed to over eleven publications regarding ophthalmic disease. She has recently written a chapter on Cannilicular disease which was published in The Lacrimal System, an Oculoplastic textbook in 2006. Dr. Landy enjoys her position as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida. Dr. Landy’s expertise in today’s advanced techniques helps her to formulate a treatment plan unique to each of her patients and she is dedicated to helping her patients look as good as they feel.
