About Jenna M. Wald, MD
Dr. Jenna M. Wald is a board-certified dermatologist, Mohs micrographic surgeon, and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She began her education at the University of North Dakota, followed by a medical degree with research distinction at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Wald continued her medical training with an internship at the University of Connecticut, where she was invited to stay for a competitive one-year fellowship in Dermatological Clinical Trials and Research with the Department of Dermatology. During her fellowship, she was involved in over one dozen clinical trials and research projects that highlighted emerging therapies for a range of dermatological conditions. Following her fellowship and training in Connecticut, Dr. Wald completed a three-year residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where she concentrated on medical dermatology. Dr. Wald’s residency training included a focus on skin cancer detection and treatment, as well as laser therapies. She also participated in clinics specializing in patients living with HIV. Skin cancer treatment and surgical dermatology are part of Dr. Wald’s passions, which led her to complete a highly revered fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatological Oncology at St. Vincent Hospital in Indiana. She performed over 1,700 surgeries and reconstructions during this fellowship under the guidance of Dr. C. William Hanke, who is the former president of the ACMS, AAD, ASDS, and ISDS. At Spectrum Dermatology, Dr. Wald continues her dedication to skin cancer prevention and treatment.
