About Janet L. Lee, MD
Dr. Janet Lee is certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology as well as the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She completed her undergraduate studies with High Honors at the University of Michigan. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in the History of Art, specializing in Italian Renaissance Art with a specific focus on Botticelli's Venus, the goddess of Beauty. After completing her undergraduate studies, she went on to attend the University of Michigan Medical School, graduating at the top 10% of her medical school class and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Lee received her post-graduate training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston - at nationally renowned hospitals including the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Children's Hospital, and the Methodist Hospital. Upon completion of her residency training, she then completed an additional year of fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She has received numerous awards in basic science research - both in the investigation of inner ear hair cell physiology while at the University of Michigan, as well as the investigation of novel genes in head and neck cancer while at the M.D. Anderson Cancer center. She has published numerous articles and book chapters in peer reviewed journals in both the fields of Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery.
