About Harris Rittenberg, DMD
Dr. Harris L. Rittenberg was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1979. In 1983 he graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He served as president of the dental college student body in 1982 and upon graduation was awarded the Mosby Book Award of Achievement. While practicing in South Florida, he met his wife Meryl. They returned to her native Jacksonville in 1986 and established his dental practice this same year. They have two wonderful children. Dr. Rittenberg is currently a member of the Jacksonville Dental society, the Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Recently, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry acknowledged Dr. Rittenberg for his active participation in restoring the smiles of victims of domestic violence as part of ther “Give Back a Smile” program. Dr. Rittenberg feels very fortunate that he is able to be in a profession and do the type of work he loves to do. His philosophy has always been to treat people fairly, do good work, and stand behind it. Over the 25 plus years of practice, he has developed a keen sense of balance when diagnosing patients. Although he is very conservative when recommending treatment, he is proactive enough to help patients avoid future problems which is in keeping with the mission statement of the practice.
