About Greta A. Richter, DDS
Dr. Richter is thrilled to be joining the Wayne Family Dentistry team! As soon as patients meet her, they can look forward to feeling her warmth, energy, and enthusiasm. Passionate about helping people look and feel their best, Dr. Richter spends plenty of time time with each patient, ensuring that they feel calm and comfortable in the dental chair. Her dedication shines through each facet of care she provides, from performing routine dental maintenance to teaching patients how to properly care for their teeth to enhancing their smiles. As a chemistry major in college, Dr. Richter had a medical doctor come to visit one of her classes and speak. To this day, she clearly remembers how unhappy he seemed during his lecture. However, a dentist later spoke to the same class and seemed genuinely excited about his career. She chose to apply to dental school soon after! Today, Dr. Richter thinks there’s plenty to love about the dental field. She loves meeting so many people through her position, as well as being able to help them feel comfortable, confident, and happy with their smiles well into the future. She has a particular passion for cosmetic dentistry and seeing how beautiful improvements really make a positive difference! She also spends a lot of time on patient education and guiding patients to take control of their personal health through good habits. This is due to prior experience – as a child, she had poor dental hygiene and regularly needed fillings and root canals to combat the damage. “Bad teeth” aren’t just caused by bad genetics! Dr. Richter was born and raised in Defiance, OH. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Washington & Lee University in 1999, where she also competed on the varsity swim team. After completing her initial degree, she attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry for her doctorate, graduating Cum Laude in 2003. She also underwent a General Practice Residency at New York Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell University and was on rotation for three months at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Following school, Dr. Richter owned and operated her own boutique dentistry practice in Manhattan. During that time, she appeared as a medical consultant on Good Morning America. In 2013, she chose to sell her practice and move to the Philadelphia suburbs in order to settle down and start a family, working in private practice in Paoli for several years before eventually coming to Wayne Family Dentistry. Dr. Richter’s husband Mike is originally from Berwyn, and they currently live in the Wayne area with their two young sons Holt and Ryan. Her personal hobbies include working out, running, playing with her children, going to social events, traveling (particularly back to New York, where she used to live) and reading. She recently finished reading Police by Jo Nesbo. She also enjoys volunteer work – in the past, she actually provided free dentistry in Cambodia at Angkor Watt Children’s Hospital.
