About Glynn Bolitho, MD
Dr. Bolitho was raised in South Africa. His passion in medicine was directly influenced by his father who was also a physician. With honors and receiving numerous awards, Dr. Bolitho attended the University of the Witwatersrand. He completed his residencies at the University of Cape Town in general and plastic surgery, and then proceeded to Oxford’s Radcliffe Infirmary in the United Kingdom continuing in plastic surgery. His multiple plastic surgery fellowships included hand surgery at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, plastic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, and surgical oncology at Emory University. After leaving a full-time faculty position at Emory University, he and his family moved to San Diego, where he opened the doors to his La Jolla private practice in 2000. His unwavering vision was to offer patients a tailored approach for their aesthetic goals through sophisticated surgical techniques, minimally invasive procedures, to non-operative treatments for unparalleled cosmetic rejuvenation. Dr. Glynn Bolitho is quadrupled certified in plastic surgery in the United States of America, Canada, Great Britain, and South Africa. At the University of California in San Diego, Dr. Bolitho fulfills a non-salaried appointment as Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery and is serving his third consecutive term as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla. Adjacent to Dr. Bolitho’s office, located at the Scripps Memorial La Jolla campus, he maintains a private operating suite which is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. Dr. Bolitho is an active member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., selected Dr. Bolitho as a “Top Doctor” in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Regionally, Dr. Bolitho’s peers at the San Diego County Medical Society chose him as “Top Doctor” for a total of five years.
