About Ginger Xu, MD
I embrace the responsibility and transformative opportunity to alter a patient's appearance in a way that is congruent with their own values and matches a more cohesive sense of self; to realign the external with the internal; to create an improved emotional landscape and a better life. These ideals captivate and inspire me every day. My practice is a blend of both aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. This includes adult and pediatric reconstruction due congenital or acquired deformities such as from trauma or cancer (e.g. of the breast or skin), breast surgeries such as implant-based cancer reconstruction / fat grafting / reduction / augmentation / lift, as well as additional niches such as transgender top surgery and body contouring. My specialty training is in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. This includes facial rejuvenation, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, botox / fillers, breast augmentation or reduction, breast lift, abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, thighplasty, and liposuction for body contouring. Within the gamut of cosmetic procedures, I have particular expertise with facelifts and necklifts. I have a special interest in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries of the face. This stems from my own experience with Bell's palsy as child. I know firsthand the debilitation and embarrassment that is singular to deformities of the face, how precious it is, and the undeniable impact it can have on one's sense of identity. Over the past 20 years, I have moved back and forth from coast to coast in search of the best education and training that I could find. Now, I am grateful to finally call the Bay Area my home. In my spare time I enjoy art, photography, ballet, film, travel, and food. My favorite place is near the ocean or surrounded by nature. Oh, and I always take the scenic route. I look forward to meeting with you and your family.
