About Gary J. Seiden, DDS
A graduate of the Georgetown University School of Dentistry, Dr. Gary Seiden has been creating great smiles for more than 30 years. His countless success stories and ongoing professional development have positioned him as one of the most sought-after dental practitioners in the National Capital region. Before opening his Washington office, Dr. Seiden built a highly successful family practice in Baltimore. He left that practice in October 2000. Along with spending two months in India, he spent time volunteering at a mission in Ecuador. In March of 2002, he decided to return to private practice, this time, much closer to his Dupont Circle home. Dr. Seiden went with a group, called Global Volunteers, in November 2001 to Quito, Ecuador. He treated handicapped and mentally impaired orphans and children from underprivileged families. In August 2008, he traveled to Papua New Guinea and joined the medical/dental team on the naval medical ship, USNS Mercy. With the ship serving as his floating dormitory, Dr. Seiden took daily trips ashore to provide much-needed dental care to the native islanders. In January 2012, he traveled to Ghana with another dentist from the Nation’s Capital. Together they treated children in orphanages who had never received dental care in the past. GarySeiden-2 In February 2013, he traveled to Vientiane, Laos, as a representative from Health Volunteers Overseas. He spent time instructing dental faculty and students in areas where they required much-needed expertise. Ultimately, Dr. Seiden would like to create or head an organization that can send dentists into areas of great dental need throughout Africa, India, Asia and beyond. Another idea that he has is to create a mobile dental unit that can travel into small villages throughout Africa to educate and treat both children and adults.
