About Frank A. Dickerman, DDS
F. Alan Dickerman was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Temple University Dental School and received his DDS degree in 1967. He continued his post-graduate education as a Captain in the United States Air Force Dental Service Corps. and received commendations from both the Strategic Air Command and the Erhling Berquist Hospital. Following his two years of service, he started his private dental practice in Bala Cynwyd, PA in 1969. Dr, Dickerman was an associate and consulting staff member at Philadelphia Osteopathic Hospital for over twenty years, and held staff positions at Elwyn Institute, one of the oldest and largest care facilities in the United States, serving children and adults with a wide range of physical, developmental, sensory (deaf/blindness), and emotional disabilities. He has treated children at the Royer-Greaves School for the Blind and was a staff member at Sleighton Farm School. In addition to his extensive clinical work history, Dickerman has accumulated over 4000 hours of post graduate education, including a 2 year post graduate orthodontic course at the Institute for Graduate Dentists in New York City. He can be considered a pioneer in Implants with extensive surgical and restorative experience. He has been placing Implants over 40 years. He attained Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentist in 1978. He has written articles for dental journals, is a premier consultant for the Gerson Lehrman Council of Advisors. Dr. Dickerman is listed as one of America’s Top Dentist by the Consumer Research Council of America, and nominated as one of the best Cosmetic dentists in the Philadelphia suburban area by Main Line Magazine. His hobbies include skiing, golf, fishing, and a love for architecture. Dr. Dickerman is married to his wife, Judy for 50 years and is the proud father of two beautiful and successful young woman and four grandchildren.
