About Era C. Murzaku, MD
Dr. Era Caterina Murzaku graduated as valedictorian with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. She then went on to Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she earned scholarships for academic achievement and graduated at the top of her class. During medical school, she performed research in melanoma at New York University and gained expertise in dermoscopy, a non-invasive imaging technique used to detect early skin cancers. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and then moved to Dallas for her residency in Dermatology at UT Southwestern. During her final year at UT Southwestern, she served as Chief Resident at Parkland Hospital and at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Murzaku has published numerous studies in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, and the American Journal of Public Health. Her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Dermatology Times. Her clinical interests include skin cancer, general medical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology, including Botox and dermal fillers. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, travel, history, fashion, spin class, and taking part in Dallas’ performing arts scene. Dr. Murzaku is extremely excited to be part of Dermatology Center of Dallas and looks forward to taking care of you and your entire family in the years to come!
