About Elaine S. Gilmore, MD
Dr. Gilmore is originally from the Boston area and graduated summa cum laude from Providence College as a double major in biology and chemistry. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her MD and PhD degrees. Dr. Gilmore has doctoral and post-doctoral training in electrophysiology and has a special interest in understanding the interplay between nerves and the skin as pertains to chronic itch and pain in dermatology. In 2008, Dr. Gilmore moved to the Rochester area with her family after completing her dermatology residency and fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, CT. Dr. Gilmore joined the University of Rochester as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology where she remained until forming Universal Dermatology, PLLC in 2015. Dr. Gilmore lives in Fairport, NY with her husband and three young children, who attend Fairport public school. As an avid sports fan, both of the participating and watching varieties, Dr. Gilmore is a supporter of local, collegiate and professional sports (particularly those from New England). It is likely that you will find her on the Fairport Little League or Perinton soccer fields on the weekends for those urgent consults.
