About Donald Clifford, DDS
“I know that coming to the dentist can be very stressful and even frightening. I promise you this: you’ll be greeted by friendly people in a warm and caring environment. I will listen to your concerns and desires and we will work out a plan together. I will do my best to calm your fears as we develop a trusting relationship.” Dr. Clifford graduated with honors from Arizona State University. He received his doctorate degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He was awarded top honors in his class for oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Clifford served in the United States Air Force from 1983-1986. While there, he received extensive training in diagnosis, endodontics, oral surgery, I.V. and nitrous oxide sedation and was appointed head of the prosthodontics department. Dr. Clifford has remained committed to continued education. He has studied Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction (TMD) under the direction of Dr. Tanaka at the University of California, San Diego. Additionally, Dr. Clifford completed a “Comprehensive Esthetic Residency” program under the tutelage of Dr. Bruce Crispin of Esthetic Professionals where he received many hours of advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and bonding. He also completed a second residency program in full mouth reconstruction. Dr. Clifford is certified in laser dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Central Arizona Dental Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Clifford’s philosophy of dentistry. His desire is to make his patients feel comfortable and at ease while at the same time providing the best dental treatment dental medicine has to offer. To this end, Dr. Clifford has put together a staff of wonderful, highly trained, friendly people. His office is equipped with the latest in dental technology, from lasers to intraoral cameras. Flat screen televisions, DVD’s, stereo headphones, and nitrous oxide are available in the treatment rooms for his patients’ added comfort. Also, “the wand” is offered to help minimize any discomfort from anesthesia. On a personal note, Dr. Clifford is a native of Arizona. He especially enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Darlene, and their four children. They like camping, hiking, and exploring the countryside. Dr. Clifford and his wife Darlene work with young adults within their church, planning and implementing wholesome activities. They also provide training for others who wish to work with the young adults.
