Diana Y. Yoon-Schwartz, MD, PhD is a plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon. After graduating from Brown University, she attended NYU School of Medicine. She went on to complete a general surgery residency and doctorate in molecular biology through a competitive NIH-funded program at UCLA. Her post-doctoral studies focused on molecular carcinogenesis and she was awarded a prestigious grant through the National Cancer Institute to study the effects of dioxin on breast cancer. She returned to New York to complete her plastic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is dual board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is one of a handful of women with skills in complex microsurgery and this gives her the unique ability to utilize ideal solutions for complex reconstructive problems. She performs the DIEP Flap, a state of the art technique, for breast cancer reconstruction as well as other complex breast and craniofacial reconstructive procedures. She is also skilled in all aspects of non-invasive procedures (such as Botox and Juvederm) and surgical cosmetic surgery including breast augmentation, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, facelifts, and abdominoplasty. She enjoys integrating all aspects of the patient’s medical condition, physique, and social issues to determine the most appropriate cosmetic and reconstructive technique. She believes that her patients should feel confident about themselves both inside and out. Dr. Yoon-Schwartz lives with her husband and three children on Long Island.
