About Carla Monteiro, DDS
Dr. Monteiro is our newest associate joining our practice in August 2011. She was graduated by the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2010. There, she furthered her education and completed a one year post doctoral program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Monteiro was involved in many charitable organizations including: Give Kids a Smile, Connecticut Mission of Mercy, South Park Inn, and the Special Olympics to name a few. She also traveled to Belize on mission trip providing dental care to the underserved. Dr. Monteiro will be going to Montana on another mission trip with dental students from UCONN in June 2012. Before dental school, Dr. Monteiro acquired a bachelors and masters degree in Biomedical Science from Quinnipiac University, in Hamden, Connecticut. While working towards her Masters degree, she wrote a thesis on skunk parasites in south central Connecticut. She presented her research at Yale University to the New England Association of Parasitologists. Born in Portugal, her family moved from Chaves, Portugal to Wallingford, Connecticut when she was 8 months old. She is fluent in Portuguese and conversational in Spanish and French. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, the family dog Luc, and of course traveling to Portugal. Her goal is to continue in the tradition of Goldberg and Marcus Dental Associates by providing optimum dental care, in a comforting, friendly environment.
