About Candace T. Wakefield, DMD
The W Dental Group is owned and operated by Dr. Candace T. Wakefield. Dr. Wakefield’s primary office is Children’s Dental Zone. She established The W Dental Group to provide a continuance of care to adult patients. Dr. Candace Wakefield is a board certified children’s dental specialist. She has the unique ability to relate to kids. Dr. Wakefield is passionate about helping children of all ages maintain a healthy and beautiful smile by establishing a positive attitude towards dentistry. Dr. Wakefield was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1995. Dr. Wakefield attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2000. After dental school, she continued her dental education and attended Howard University in Washington D.C. She was elected chief resident in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and received her Specialty Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2002. In 2011, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from Howard University for her commitment to community service and the profession.
