About Bryan Sofen, MD
A Detroit native, Dr. Sofen graduated with honors from the University of Michigan and earned his MD at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed a surgical internship at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York before his residency in Dermatology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, serving as chief resident his final year. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cosmetic dermatology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Also completing a fellowship in Dermatopharmacology at New York University (NYU), Dr. Sofen is the author of many scientific publications, has lectured at numerous international meetings, and is the author of over a dozen textbook chapters. Dr. Sofen’s clinical interests include surgical dermatology, skin cancer prevention and treatment, and general medical dermatology for patients of all ages. He has a particular interest in cutaneous oncology and cosmetic dermatology, with a focus on BOTOX® and filler injections, as well as laser therapy. Having trained at two of the top three dermatology programs in the country, he is eager to return home and treat patients with the highest degree of care. Dr. Sofen practices at the Bloomfield, Livonia, and Shelby locations.
