About Brook Seeley, MD
The ideal facial plastic surgeon possesses both surgical skill and artistry. Dr. Brook Seeley, the founder of Connecticut Facial Plastic Surgery, excels in both areas. He is well known for achieving natural-looking results with a facelift, neck lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and rhinoplasty (nasal surgery). He is also a talented facial reconstructive surgeon, restoring appearance and function for adults and children after a nasal injury, skin cancer, facial trauma, and other facial injuries. Dr. Seeley is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. These board certifications demonstrate Dr. Seeley’s commitment to education and outstanding patient care. Receiving board certification is the hallmark of a top doctor and requires additional training and testing in a specific medical specialty. He is also recognized as a Graduate Fellow in Hair Restoration Surgery by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, having completed a prestigious year-long fellowship with the highly esteemed Dr. Sheldon Kabaker. Dr. Seeley’s interest in medicine began as a young child. After graduating from Dartmouth College with honors, he began his medical training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, eventually receiving his medical degree. He was president of both the student body and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society during his time at this highly respected medical school and was selected to deliver its commencement address. Dr. Seeley then dedicated his next six years to an intensive training program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, one of the most prestigious and highly sought after academic medical training programs in the world. During his time at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Seeley had the opportunity to further his training and develop his medical expertise by devoting an entire year to medical research. He was able to publish several papers in respected medical journals and to present and teach at medical meetings around the world. He also served as Chief Resident. Many surgeons move into private practice after medical school and residency, but Dr. Seeley’s desire to become a top doctor in his chosen field led him to pursue a fellowship training program in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). Here, he mastered his craft under the tutelage of two of the world’s most highly regarded experts in the field, Drs. Corey Maas and Sheldon Kabaker. Having completed this level of training, he is one of a select few physicians to be recognized as a Graduate Fellow in Hair Restoration Surgery. The son of a grade school teacher, Dr. Seeley has always valued and enjoyed teaching future physicians and surgical specialists. He has had the opportunity to train up-and-coming facial plastic surgeons as a Clinical Instructor in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCSF, and he is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he has mentored and instructed resident physicians and medical students since 2002. He is the Head of the Section of Facial Plastic Surgery at Hartford Hospital and serves as the liaison between UConn’s residency program and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also an active staff member at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. To ensure that patients receive the best care available, doctors choose medical specialties or areas where they receive advanced training and education. Dr. Seeley has decided to focus his medical training and practice on a few specific types of procedures. He is a well-respected facial plastic surgeon that performs both cosmetic and reconstructive/functional surgeries on the face, with interest in cosmetic and functional nasal surgery, aging face rejuvenation, and skin cancer reconstruction.
