About Audrey B. Desky, MD
I was raised in South Florida and decided at an early age to follow in my father's footsteps and pursue a career in medicine. My father was a family practice doctor and through him I was introduced to the field of medicine. Some of my most valuable lessons came from watching my father as he helped others. Although I loved Florida, my wander lust prevailed and so I headed off to Tulane in New Orleans for Medical School. I fell in love with both Tulane Medical School and the city of New Orleans. Attending Medical School was an exciting time in my life as both the education and life experiences were challenging and dynamic. My interest in Dermatology began in medical school. I chose Dermatology for many reasons. I wanted to care for patients of all ages. I also wanted to have both a medical as well as a surgical practice. I felt the specialty of dermatology would be both challenging and rewarding and I have not been disappointed. I have practiced Dermatology since 1991. I began my employment with Kaiser Permanente in 1993 in Oakland where I was Chief of the Dermatology Department. I transferred to Santa Rosa in 1997 and have been rewarded with a very fulfilling practice. As a Dermatologist, I specialize in skin diseases and currently have a broad range of practice. I take care of patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. Although there are intellectual challenges in my specialty, it is the personal interactions that I have with my patients that truly inspire me.
