About Anthony V. Benedetto, DO
Dr. Anthony Benedetto, after completing his internship, residency and surgical training at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, returned to Philadelphia in 1978 to begin his practice in dermatologic surgery. He was the first physician in Pennsylvania to practice Mohs surgery for skin cancer. Dr. Anthony Benedetto is the founder and medical director of the Dermatologic SurgiCenter in Philadelphia and Drexel Hill, PA. He serves as director for the ACGME-accredited Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology fellowship at the Dermatologic SurgiCenter, and is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Anthony holds membership and committee positions in many dermatologic societies and is currently the North American Vice President of the IACD, Secretary/Treasurer of the History of Dermatology Society, Secretary General of the NACDS, and Immediate Past President of the ISDS. He is on the Editorial Board of SkinMed, and the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. He was named ‘Dermatologist of the Year’ in 2009 by the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Benedetto has authored or co-authored 69 articles in peer review journals, 14 chapters in textbooks, and a comprehensive textbook on botulinum toxins. He frequently lectures at national and international meetings and enjoys traveling with his wife, Diane and spending time with their four children.
