About Ann P. Murchison, MD
Ann P. Murchison, MD, MPH is Director of the Emergency Department at Wills Eye Hospital, associate professor of ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University and senior fellow at Jefferson School of Population Health. Her ophthalmology residency was at the University of Washington in Seattle and fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta. She then went on to complete a masters in public health at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. Upon completing her fellowship she joined the Emory faculty as Assistant Professor in 2006. In 2008 she joined Wills Eye Hospital where her focus is on functional and traumatic disorders of the orbit and adnexa in both children and adults. Dr. Murchison is a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). She has published more than 60 peer-reviewed and invited journal articles as well as authoring and editing books and book chapters. She has presented at both national and international meetings in ophthalmology and other disciplines. She is very active in teaching, including training medical students and residents.
