About Amy V. Curtis, MD
Dr. Amy Curtis leads the exceptional medical team at Dermatology and Aesthetics Center of Utah. She is committed to providing the highest quality dermatologic care to her patients and is actively engaged with her patients, taking into account their wishes and concerns with regards to their dermatologic care. She is dedicated to their well-being, and knowledgeable in utilizing the most recent medical and surgical advances in a comforting and compassionate environment. Dr. Curtis enjoys all aspects of dermatology, specifically dedicating a significant portion of her education and training to the early detection and treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Curtis began her career in the rigorous Honors Program at Brigham Young University culminating in her honors thesis and graduation with University Honors, the highest honor bestowed to BYU undergraduates. She received her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, participating in the medical student research program and electing to spend an extra 18 months of her medical school career immersed in cutting edge genetic research. She devoted her time at the Translational Genomics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona working alongside world-class scientists studying the complex genetics of melanoma. Dr. Curtis then went on to complete a challenging three-year residency in dermatology at one of the most prestigious dermatology programs in the country, the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) in Dallas. Texas. While in residency, she completed research with regards to using photodynamic therapy combined with topical chemotherapy for the treatment of actinic keratosis and sun damage. At UTSW, she trained with many of the world’s most renowned dermatologists considered to be pioneers in their respective fields. Outside of work, Dr. Curtis enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, reading, and cooking.
