Since 1985, October has served as Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Month — a period devoted to educating the public on the disease that, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is the second most common form of cancer in women, regardless of race or ethnicity. Men can also be diagnosed with breast cancer (albeit at a much lower rate), and The AEDITION is devoting much of its coverage this month to BCA, from expert guides to mastectomies and reconstructive breast surgery to powerful patient perspectives and roundups of products that give back.

‘Tis the season to think pink! If you are looking for an added incentive to stock up on your favorite beauty products or treat yourself to something new, brands are giving back all October long in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

From lash-enhancing serums and complexion-perfecting skincare to pretty-in-pink activewear and jewelry, there are plenty of ways to shop for the cause this month. Galderma Laboratories (the maker of Dysport®, Restylane®, and more) is partnering with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) on a #PlankForPink campaign that allows you to squeeze in a workout while raising awareness. Thrive Causemetics is teaming up with breast cancer thriver and author Nalie Agustin to gift copies of her bestselling book, while other brands are partnering with equally worthy charities like The City of Hope, The Pink Agenda, The Breasties, and more.
