About Yiska Furman, DMD
Dr. Furman loves dentistry, and enjoys the opportunity to provide comprehensive family dental care to adults and children, ranging from cosmetic and implant dentistry to a young patient’s very first visit. Dr. Furman understands that for many, visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience. Being a family dentist requires a relaxed demeanor, rapport with her patients both young and old, and dedication to making her patients feel as relaxed as possible during their treatment. Dr. Furman will ease any worries you have about your visit. Dr. Furman’s passion for dentistry gives her patients a reason to smile! Dr. Furman was born in Ithaca, NY, and raised in Toronto, Ontario, by way of Copenhagen, Denmark, and Tel Aviv, Israel. Growing up in Canada she attended McGill University, but moved south for dental school, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Following her graduation, Dr. Furman continued her clinical education, completing a dental residency at Long Island College Hospital in New York. She practiced in Brooklyn, New York before opening Promenade Dental Care. In order to provide the best care possible for her patients, Dr. Furman keeps up with the latest in dental technology and education. She recently completed a prestigious two-year course at the New York University College of Dentistry in surgical and prosthetic treatment of dental implants. As a respected member of the dental community, Dr. Furman maintains membership in a number of accredited and respected dental organizations, including The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Dental Association, and the New Jersey Dental Association. She received the title of Fellow from the International Congress of Oral Implantology in 2014, and is honored to be part of a distinguished group of international dentists who both surgically place and restore dental implants. Dr. Furman lives in Bergen County with her husband, two children, and twin cats, Willow and Lulu. When she is not in the office, Dr. Furman enjoys reading books about teeth to her children, playing the violin, and painting.
