About Thomas R. Getreuer, DDS
Dr. Getreuer came to Stamford, Connecticut in 1981. A graduate of Columbia University’s School of Dental and Oral Surgery, he completed a General Practice Residency at Lennox Hill Hospital in New York City. His first office was opened on Grove Street during Stamford’s urban renewal phase. A short two years later the office was moved to its present location on Morgan Street, CT. As a member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Getreuer understands the booming technological growth in the dental field. His career has been highlighted by a dedication to continuing education. He attained Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2000 and has attained Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry in July 2011. This prestigious award distinguishes him as one of a small group of dentists dedicated to staying up-to-date and providing leadership in a field that has exhibited explosive growth. Only 1% of all dentists in the United States and Canada achieve this level of recognition. Dr. Getreuer resides in Stamford, Connecticut and is a member of the Stamford Health Departments’ Health Commission, the Stamford Anti Blight Commission, and Rotary International. A past president of both the Stamford Dental Society and the Stamford Rotary Club, he continues to give back to the community in many different capacities. He is married with two daughters and likes to ski, bicycle, and ride Harleys in his spare time. This office treats all patients regardless of their abilities or disabilities. We work with all insurances and reimbursement plans. We are a model office in coaching employers about Direct Reimbursement Plans as an alternative to conventional dental insurance. We also have the technical expertise to work with the newest Health Savings Accounts as well as the traditional Flexible Spending Accounts.
