About Thomas A. Cilano, DDS
Dr. Cilano was born and raised in Rochester, NY. His love of dentistry started at an early age with his involvement in the Dental Explorer’s group in high school and it continues to grow today. Dr. Cilano graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1981 with a B.S. in Biology. In 1985, he received his D.D.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Choosing to further his education, he completed a General Practice Residency program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, NY. This program provided additional training in all areas of dentistry, but was particularly strong in the areas of prosthodontics and pathology. Returning to Rochester in 1986, Dr. Cilano joined Dr. William Calnon as an associate. In 1989, Dr. Cilano became a partner and Calnon & Cilano, DDS, PC was formed. Over the years, Dr. Cilano has taken a special interest in the areas of restorative, endodontics, prosthetic and implant dentistry. In addition, he encourages other members of the staff to explore and implement new treatment modalities in the area of preventive care and maintenance. Dr. Cilano has been a member of dental study groups and attended numerous continuing education courses. He is an active member of the Monroe County, Seventh District and The New York State Dental Societies, as well as the American Dental Association. These organizations all provide essential resources to help keep him current on the ever changing face of dentistry. Dr. Cilano and his wife Betty have three children: Sean, Kevin and Julia. In his free time, Dr. Cilano enjoys gardening, fishing, wood working, racquetball and jazz.
