About Thomas J. Bloem, DDS
Dr. Bloem completed his undergraduate dental education at the University of Michigan (D.D.S., 1976) as well as his graduate education in prosthodontics (M.S., 1978). While practicing part-time, Dr. Bloem served on the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry for 17 years. He is a past member of the Dean’s Faculty in Prosthodontics at the University of Michigan. He has also served as a local dental society President and at local and state dental society levels as a reviewer and committee chair for Peer Review/Ethics and Peer Review/Dental Care. Dr. Bloem has served as a Michigan Specialty Examination Formulation Committee Member; on the Council of Michigan Dental Specialty Presidents; and as an advisor to the Michigan Board of Dentistry as a member of the Michigan Dental Specialty Task Force. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Prosthodontists as a Regional Membership Director and he is Past President of the Michigan Section of the ACP. In 2019, Dr. Bloem was awarded a Private Practice Prosthodontist Award by the American College of Prosthodontists. After 42 years in private prosthodontic practice, Dr. Bloem now continues as a parttime specialist associate with Kane Dentistry.
