About Susan S. Roper, MD
Susan S. Roper, M.D. is a Board-Certified Dermatologist, certified by the prestigious American Board of Dermatology. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was Phi Beta Kappa, and received her undergraduate degree from Stetson University in Deland, Florida. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and served her internship in Internal Medicine at Emory University also. She completed her residency training in Dermatology at Emory University, serving as Chief Resident of the Department of Dermatology. She also completed a research fellowship year in Dermatology at Emory University, after receiving the prestigious Dermatology Foundation Research Award sponsored by Revlon. Dr. Roper, who is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, holds membership in a number of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Florida Society of Dermatology, and the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, of which she is Past-President, a board member, and Surgeon of the Year for 2006. Dr. Roper has graciously donated her time as a volunteer Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and Dermatology at the University of South Florida School of Medicine in Tampa, Florida and the James Haley VA Hospital Dermatology Clinic for over 20 years, retiring in 2009 from her volunteer duties with the University and the VA Hospital. Dr. Roper is affiliated with Morton Plant/Mease Hospitals for over 20 years, and has been in private practice at Countryside Dermatology and Laser Center in Clearwater, Florida for 25 years.
