About Steven H. Goldberg, MD
I'm originally from Houston, Texas. I graduated from both Rice University in Houston and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. I finished my internship in internal medicine at the University of Washington, and completed a dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. I served as the acting chair for dermatology for a publishing company, and have been the symposium chair of dermatologyfor Kaiser Permanente in Southern California for both physicians and nurses. I've served on numerous committees that deal with subjects such as bioethics, pharmacy and therapeutics, cancer, access and quality, and physician leadership. I have enjoyed teaching and giving lectures at various meetings throughout the country. I currently split my time between practicing dermatology and performing various administrative duties. I specialize primarily in procedural dermatology and cancer surgery . I have several offices, however, I spend most of my clinical time at our Clairemont Mesa Medical Offices and La Mesa Medical Offices. I very much enjoy teaching other physicians, residents, and medical students. I'm proud to have outstanding colleagues within the department who teach at UC San Diego Medical School and the Navy hospital, and have published various chapters or textbooks on dermatology . I strongly believe the best part of my practice is the caliber of the physicians who work beside me. My hobbies include biking, hiking, tennis, and astronomy. One of the reasons I moved to San Diego from Chicago and Houston is the weather. I'm love the outdoors, and enjoy long walks on the beach.
