About Steven G. Damelio, DMD
Dr. Steven Damelio was born and raised in the Rochester area. After attending Webster Schroeder High School, he graduated from the University of Rochester in 1983 with a B.A in Biology. While at the U of R, he was active in the school community, joining the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and serving as president in his senior year. Following his undergraduate career, Dr. Damelio was accepted into the dental program at Boston's Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. As part of his formal education, he participated in a five-week dental residency at Concord State Hospital in New Hampshire and New England Medical Center in Boston. After graduating in 1987, he began working with Dr. John Storella of Boston. In 1990 Dr. Damelio returned to Rochester and joined the practice of Dr. Matthew Mauro in Penfield and taking over the practice one year later. Dr. Damelio is very active in the Rochester area dental community. He is a past president of the Monroe County and the Seventh District Dental Societies, chaired the New York Dental Society's Peer Review and Quality Assurance Committee, and is currently a delegate to the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Damelio is also a member of New York's Dental Lifeline committee, which addresses the dental needs of New York's underserved adult population. Dr. Damelio also places a strong emphasis on continuing education for himself and his staff. In addition to taking Continuing Education courses throughout the year, he is an active member of the Southeast Periodontal and Apollonian Dental Study Groups. Outside the world of dentistry, the office contributes to a children's charity every year by donating new, unwrapped toys to the Boys and Girl's Club of Rochester. When not at the office, Dr. Damelio can be found with his wife and three sons. Matthew, Jacob and Michael, coaching one of his son's sports teams, golfing, or working on his Penfield home
