About Sima Z. Torabian, MD
I was born and raised in Iran but immigrated to Sacramento when I was 14 years old. I completed my undergraduate, medical school and dermatology training at University of California, Davis. I have spent a significant amount of time doing research both in infectious diseases and dermatology, including the study of melanoma skin cancers at U.C.S.F. I consider myself very blessed to have a profession that I truly enjoy. Dermatology has allowed me to have a diverse practice combining my general, surgical and cosmetic skills while interacting with both adults and children. I enjoy teaching and in addition to giving lectures to primary care physicians and pediatricians, I also have started an eczema class where I teach parents how to care for their children with eczema. I stay active on the state and national level. I was the past president of Sacramento Valley Dermatology Society and am currently on the board of California Dermatology Society. I am very fortunate to share my life with my wonderful husband who I met in medical school. We enjoy traveling, reading, kayaking, and skiing, as well as spending time with our friends and family.
