About Scott R. Smith, DDS

Dr. Scott R. Smith was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin December 22, 1953 and moved to the Downriver Detroit area at an early age. He attended school in Lincoln Park, Michigan until 10th grade then moved with his family and subsequently graduated from Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, Michigan in 1972. He then attended Adrian College where he graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree. He is a 1980 graduate from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry. After establishing his dental practice in Adrian, Michigan that same year, Dr. Smith returned to teach at the University of Michigan for three years in the department of Crown and Bridge. In 1984 he left the University and purchased a second dental practice in Onsted, Michigan. He ran both practices for five years before selling the Onsted office and dedicating his time fully to the Adrian office. Dr. Smith has been a practicing dentist in Adrian for thirty seven years. He maintains a seven chair dental practice with multiple support staff including two full time dental hygienists. His love of the outdoors and his passion for fly fishing have led him to own and operate a Fly Fishing specialty store in Mio, Michigan with two partners and own a Fly Fishing Outfitter and Guide Service in Grayling, Michigan. Dr. Smith has taken his fly fishing around the world and holds 53 world records on fly tackle.
