About Scott B. Karlene, MD
Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Scott B. Karlene is a medical dermatologist who specializes in the treatment of all aspects of the skin with an emphasis on skin malignancies and genetic skin disorders. Dr. Karlene trained at Dartmouth Medical School, Harvard University, and Wayne State University. He is a staff physician at the Detroit Medical Center, Hurley Medical Center, McLaren Regional Medical Center, and Genesys Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Michigan State Medical Society, Michigan Dermatological Society, American Medical Association, and the Oakland County Medical Society. Dr. Karlene is also an avid researcher, specializing in animal and plant viruses and their relationships to autoimmune diseases and malignancy.
