About Russell P. Edwards, MD
Dr. Edwards opened his practice after spending more than 20 years as an ophthalmologist in the Navy. He trained new ophthalmologists for the majority of his career in the Navy and served as the head of the Ophthalmology Department at Naval Medical Center San Diego during the final 5 years before his retirement from military service in 2005. Fellowship trained in neuro-ophthalmology and diseases of the orbit, Dr. Edwards is a specialist in the diagnosis and management of neuro-ophthalmic and other eye disorders including optic nerve disease, myasthenia gravis, double vision, temporal arteritis, Graves' disease, orbital tumors, cataracts, glaucoma, eyelid tumors, and eyelid plastic surgery and reconstruction. Dr. Edwards is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
