About Roy Shim, DDS
Dr. Roy Shim received his undergraduate degree in biological science from University of California at Irvine. He understood that being a dentist is not just about working on teeth, but one has to better understand overall medical condition of our patients and how their medical conditions might interact with current oral conditions. In order to better educate himself, Dr. Shim has attended Boston University and received a graduate masters degree in medical sciences. Immediately after receiving his masters degree, he was accepted to Northwestern University Dental School with a scholarship. Northwestern University scholarship is only offered for those few who had distinguished academic achievements. Upon graduating from one of the top dental schools in the nation, Dr. Shim further educated himself by completing his general practice residency at Evanston/Northwestern Hospital. Upon completion of general practice residency, Dr. Shim was honored with an excellence in hospital residency award. Dr. Shim has been practicing in the valley since 2007 and he was voted by Phoenix Magazine as one of the Top Dentists. Dr. Shim’’s philosophy is to educate his patients the importance of dental care and how oral health can impact overall their general well being. He also believes that patient education will give our patients knowledge necessary to make informed and intelligent decisions regarding proper dental health and treatments. As a family and cosmetic dentist who is dedicated to practicing exceptional dentistry for his patients, Dr. Shim frequently continues his education throughout the country to keep up with the latest technology, techniques and materials. Utilizing his artistic abilities, Dr. Shim is able to provide his patients with a life changing smile. Cosmetic dentistry offers the power to change your personality and the people around you. Dr. Shim is a certified provider for many highly technical dental procedures including CAD/CAM, Invisalign, Lumineers, Implants and Braces. Dr Shim is well trained in CAD/CAM dentistry and has been using CEREC CAD/CAM system since 2009. Dr Shim understands that patient’s time is extremely valuable and he will be able to complete crown/onlay procedures on the same day in one visit without using temporaries. Even permanent implant crowns can be fabricated on the same day. As a certified Invisalign provider with traditional orthodontic training, Dr. Shim will be able to provide combination treatment options for all your orthodontic needs. Many of these certifications do overlap in many technical areas where Dr. Shim can apply combined knowledge into providing better care for all types of our patients with more efficient and predictable outcomes.
