About Robert F. Cannis, DMD
Dr. Robert Cannis is a native of New Jersey, and has been in private practice since 1976. He graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1971 with a B.S. Degree, and from Fairleigh Dickinson Dental School in 1975 with a D.M.D. Degree. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Cannis was one of two dentists selected from a pool of 120 applicants for a coveted 1-year residency at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. There he received additional specialized training in all phases of dentistry including cosmetics, implants, and full-mouth reconstruction. In his practice, Dr. Cannis has a passion for excellence, quality, state-of-the-art dentistry, and Five Star patient service. His desire and practice philosophy is to enhance and enrich his patients' lives, by creating and integrating optimal oral health with a pleasing, beautiful smile. Incorporating the art of dentistry, as well as cutting edge technology (dental lasers, digital radiography and photography, computerized periodontal screening, and Zoom™ tooth whitening), in the creation of a new and attractive smile, is what makes dentistry exciting and fun for Dr. Cannis. He is also a member of the Jersey Shore Medical Center/University of Pennsylvania study club, as well as a study continuum that focuses on state-of-the-art implant innovations. Dr. Cannis, his wife Barbara, and son Matthew reside in Toms River. They enjoy golfing and water sports together as a family. Dr. Cannis and Barbara are active in the ministries of their church, Life Chapel.
