About Richard G. Viagrande, DMD
Dr. Viagrande is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, with over 30 years in general practice focusing on cosmetics, oral reconstruction and dental implants. He works in conjunction with several of the Hartford area’s top specialists to be able to provide you and your family a quality of dental care second to none. Over the course of his professional career, he has been a member of The American Dental Association, The Connecticut State Dental Association, New Britain Dental Society, The Dental Society of Greater Southington, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, The Seattle Implant Study Society (national), and The New Britain Implant Study Society. Through these groups, Dr. Viagrande participates in hundreds of hours of continuing education. Several times over the past decade, he has been voted as one of Connecticut's Top Dentists, by his PEERS, in Hartford Magazine's annual survey. He currently maintains a part-time position with the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. as a clinical instructor in the Advanced General Residency Program. In his free time, Dr.Viagrande volunteers at Mt. Southington during the winter months, volunteers at the Special Olympics, is part of a “Take a Vet (veteran) Fishing” Group, and donates his time and skills to “Mission of Mercy” (The CSDA program that donates dental services to CT residents in need free of charge) for several years. In 2005 he received the Order of Blue Knight award for recognition of outstanding service to High School students of Southington. He also supports all Berlin School Youth Programs, and supports the Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association (non-profit educational organization). He is an avid skier and fisherman, who can never pass up a day at the beach with his family. He resides with his wife, Catherine, and his two sons in Southington. Dr. Viagrande brings his high level of expertise chair-side, combined with a down-to-earth attitude to help each patient reach the level of dental health the patient wants for himself or herself.
