About Richard E. Buffong, DMD
Dr. Buffong is the proud owner of RJ Dental Teaneck and Roselle and a highly skilled dentist dedicated to providing gentle and effective care to patients of all dental backgrounds and ages. RJ Dental was established in 2005 with a mission statement: “Treating your Oral Health in Relation to your Overall Health.” I want my patients to understand the CONNECTION between their Oral Health and their Overall Health. A disease mouth including multiple missing teeth, misaligned teeth have been shown to lead or contribute to Heart disease, diabetes, improper digestion of food just to name a few. Dr. Buffong has always emphasized the importance of creating a dental practice that stresses relaxation, comfort and integrity. “Most important to me is my patients’ understanding and education about the dental procedures that they are undergoing. I believe that an educated patient will make the correct decision about their dental health whether its implants, crown and bridge or Invisalign treatment. Dr. Buffong is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), a member of the Bergen County Dental Association, The Bergen County Implant Study Club, The New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA) and a founding member of North East Regional Dental Society (NERDS). Dr. Buffong is continually expanding his knowledge of advances in dentistry with seminars held locally and throughout the world including his most recent Implant Global Conference held in the French Riviera, France, International Congress on Implantology in Las Vegas, where he qualified for his Fellowship in Implantology. Dr. Buffong has found a niche in preforming full mouth reconstructions and applying cosmetic dentistry to each procedure. Dr.Buffong is an Invisalign Preferred Provider and has successfully performed many difficult Invisalign cases. Dr. Buffong also places implants for missing areas and for implant supported dentures. Married for over 13 years to Dr. Jeannine Stephenson who is also a dentist, they have an 11 years old daughter, Alexis who is the apple of their eyes and heart. In my free time I enjoy Reading, Golfing and Running especially 5K runs where I am now clocking an 8 minute mile. Dr. Buffong and RJ Dental has constantly supported and participated in the “GIVE Kids A SMILE” dental program as well as the MARCH Of Dimes Walk in Bergen county. RJ Dental and Dr. Buffong has also conducted numerous dental screenings / Oral hygiene demonstrations and dental education in numerous Schools, Churches and Community sponsored events for many years, including international missionary trips: Jamaica, St Vincent & Grenadines with Health Care International. I was born on the small nature island of Dominica in the Caribbean, where I believe that when you are fortunate and bless, it is import to give back to the communities that have supported you and to the less fortunate in underserved areas.
