About Rebecca Lu, MD
Dr. Rebecca Lu is a highly skilled board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Pennsylvania before graduating with her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Lu then completed her residency training in dermatology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center through Columbia University, where she also served as chief resident. To further advance her training, Dr. Lu completed a prestigious nationally accredited fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology, which provided the foundation for her extensive experience in this field. She has since performed over 5,000 surgical procedures, including Mohs surgeries and excisional surgeries, as well as laser surgery and cosmetic procedures. Dr. Lu has presented at national meetings and her work has also been published in multiple scientific journals. She is a professional member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery – the premier professional society for fellowship-trained Mohs and reconstructive surgeons. Dr. Lu is also affiliated with Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where she serves as assistant clinical instructor and is involved with teaching residents. Dr. Lu's care philosophy is centered around the patient. She involves the patient in the decision making process and is passionate about patient education. She believes in addressing all aspects of total skin health, starting from skin cancer screenings for the prevention of skin cancer, Mohs surgery to treat skin cancer, and skin repair treatments to reverse the signs of premature aging and damage caused by the sun. Dr. Lu is also a firm believer that cosmetic treatments, such as laser rejuvenation, laser hair removal, and wrinkle treatments are more than just about looking good, but about feeling good about yourself and improving your self-esteem and confidence.
