About Quynh-Lan Nguyen, DMD
Dr. Nguyen dreamed of being a dentist since she was 10 years old. After reuniting with her father in the United States at age 14, she decided to make that dream a reality. Dr. Nguyen received her bachelor’s degree in food microbiology from the University of California in 2000 and, in 2004, received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, with honors, from Case Western Reserve University, School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, she received many honors and awards including the Dean’s Clinical Scholarship Award, Hu-Friedy’s Golden Scaler Award, and the Stanley M. Koobation Award. After dental school, she spent two years as a member of the USAF Dental Corps where she received a scholarship to the U.S. Airforce Health Professions Scholarship Program and completed a one-year residency at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. She completed extensive training courses in operative dentistry, periodontics, and prosthodontics at Lackland AFB. She also served as general dentist officer at Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan, and Travis AFB, California. During her active duty service in the USAF, Dr. Nguyen received the Air Force Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Dr. Nguyen wants each patient to have a positive experience in the dental chair. Her goal is to help you achieve optimal oral health and keep your beautiful, confident smile for life. She has a compassionate and calm approach, exemplified through many volunteer activities. Dr. Nguyen strives to provide the best care for all her patients by continually learning and attending many continuing education courses throughout the year. Dr. Nguyen lives in Sugar Land, TX, with her husband, Tri, and their two furry babies: Sebastian and Sophia. When she isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family. Dr. Quynh Lan Nguyen opened Emerald Dental’s first location in southwest Houston in 2014. Following the success of her first office, she opened a second location in Cypress, TX, in 2018.
