About Pooja Malik, DDS
My practice philosophy is ''Dentistry is my profession but people are my focus''. As a child I always knew I belonged to the healthcare industry. Growing up I saw my father as my greatest inspiration. Being a physician, he would always alleviate people's problems and hence made a huge impact in their lives. I always wanted to carry his legacy. When I was sixteen, I was impressed when my orthodontist transformed my smile and changed the way the world looked at me. I felt this profession will let me take care of people in a special way and also make a big difference in their lives. I graduated with a DDS degree from the prestigious UCSF School of Dentistry in 2005. Thereafter I have worked at multiple dental offices in the bay area for seven years. I have completed a residency program in full mouth Reconstruction and Aesthetic Dentistry from Esthetic Professionals, LA in 2012. There I received advanced training in porcelain work such as inlays, onlays, veneers and crowns. I can also recreate the bite if the teeth are worn off. I am a member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Contra Costa Dental Society. I am also in the process of getting my fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. I believe in constant improvisation and like to stay abreast with the latest techniques and technologies. We are state of the art office with complete digitalization to help patients co-diagnose what we see, so they can make informed decisions about their teeth. We use the STA system for local anesthesia, which is a computer controlled delivery system that enhances patient's comfort level. I believe dentistry is an art which is best performed in a stress free environment. At Ivory Smiles we have created the dynamics of great service with fine dentistry. In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband and our nine year old daughter. I also love swimming, hiking and traveling to new places.
