About Perry L. Westbrook, D.M.D.
Dr. Westbrook has practiced in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last 19 years. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. This honor is achieved only by passing two-day long board examinations, including oral examination and testing by the Board members themselves. His educational background consists of the following: he received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, followed by his dental doctorate degree at Washington University, St. Louis. He then completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Genesee Hospital of the University of Rochester, New York, followed by his postdoctoral master’s degree and a certificate in Periodontics at Case Western Reserve University. In addition to practicing for the last 20 years, he is also a past assistant professor at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, teaching periodontics and periodontal surgery to the dental students. Additionally, Dr. Westbrook has completed many post-graduate mini-residencies in specific sub-specialization at the U.S.C. and U.C.L.A Schools of Dentistry, L.S.U. School of Dentistry, the IDEA Center in Foster City, CA, as well as several other dental schools and specialty surgical organizations. He has articles published in the Journal of Periodontology, and the Journal of Dental Research, has completed many of the highly respected Spear Institute courses since 2000 and is the first Kois Center Recognized Specialist in Periodontics & Implants in California.
