About Paul Ferguson, DMD
At age 28, Dr. Ferguson was working as a paralegal at a large law firm in New York City when he decided that he wanted to become a dentist. Dr. Ferguson and a few other old married guys entered the New Jersey Dental School at UMDNJ alongside the rest of the students who were mostly recent college graduates. At dental school, Dr. Ferguson excelled both at academics and leadership. He served as class president, and was awarded the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society award and the Chesky Kleiner Humanitarian award. Following graduation, he completed a hospital residency in General Dentistry at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Being a Monmouth County native, Dr. Ferguson was pleased when, in 1999, he began living and practicing in Fair Haven. Dr. Ferguson continually pursues excellence in dentistry. He has a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He has advanced his skills and knowledge at both The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, FL and the Kois Center in Seattle, WA. Dr. Ferguson is a member (and Past-president and current Treasurer) of the New Jersey Cast Gold Study Club, which is part of the Academy of R.V. Tucker Study Clubs. He is also a member of the Seattle Study Club. Dr. Ferguson takes an amount of continuing education every year that far exceeds requirements. He is committed to providing his patients with the most advanced dental techniques and the highest quality dentistry. In addition to working at his practice in Fair Haven, Dr. Ferguson is a clinical instructor at Middlesex County College in the Dental Hygiene Department. Dr. Ferguson is a member of a number of dental academies, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Operative Dentistry, and the Academy of R.V. Tucker Study Clubs. He belongs to the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, and other dental organizations. Dr. Ferguson is active in the local community, and he currently serves as Treasurer of the Fair Haven Business Association. Dr. Ferguson enjoys getting to know his patients and learning more about their interests. His interests include playing volleyball and golf, doing yoga, cheering on the NY Yankees, and doing the New York Times crossword puzzle religiously. He and his wife, Carolyn, enjoy time with their families and friends, cooking, gardening, and traveling. Hiking in the national parks is one of Dr. Ferguson’s passions.
