About Paul J. Chaiken, DDS
I have been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years and love the opportunity to really help patients by making a positive change in their health. I believe that dentistry is about much more than teeth. Science proves that the mouth affects the entire body, making dentistry intrinsic to health. But dentistry is also about improving smiles, which can be a vital aspect of confidence and self-esteem. Dentistry balances these two ideas, making it truly a practice of science and art. I am here to partner with patents in obtaining their desired level of health. We collaborate through careful listening, evaluations, and interactive discussions so I can understand their expectations and desires. I want to give my patients several options for treatment so that they can make an informed decision about treatment. I attended Indiana University in Bloomington and earned my dental degree from Loyola University Chicago College of Dental Surgery. My postgraduate studies include the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, the Center for Esthetic Excellence master level courses, the Seattle Study Club, and the Chicago Academy of Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Therapy. In addition to my work at North Dental Professionals, I am also an assistant clinical professor of otolaryngology and dental surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I also volunteer at the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. I grew up just outside of Chicago in Northwest Indiana. I now reside in the north suburbs of the city, where my beautiful wife and I have raised two beautiful daughters. I love being with my family, working out at the gym, listening to live music, and hanging out with friends. When I have the time, I also enjoy skiing, golf, and scuba diving. As a family, we’re all very interested in environmental issues and social justice. My family and I volunteer at food pantries to feed the homeless, and I am on the board of directors of an organization with strong environmental and social justice initiatives. Additionally, I volunteer dental services for underprivileged and handicapped people in the Chicago area.
