About Osamuede Osemwota, MD
Dr. Osamuede Osemwota is a board-certified dermatologist and founder of St. Louis Dermatology Center. She was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. She completed residency at Washington University in St. Louis and graduated from medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, Dr. Osemwota was a Fulbright Scholar to the École Normale Supérieurede Cachan in France where she conducted pharmacological research on novel treatments for HIV/AIDS. During this time, she obtained a Master's Degree in Oncology from the Université Paris-Sud XI École Doctorale De Cancérologie. She attended DePauw University for her undergraduate education. She has also completed research at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation: Lerner Research Institute through the National Science Foundation, studying the role of a specific enzyme important in skin development. She has completed preceptorships with internationally renowned Dermatologists through competitive grants from the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the Women’s Dermatology Society at Columbia University, the Center for Dermatology in Washington D.C. and at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, respectively. She has given talks at the American Academy for Dermatology as well as Dermatology Grand Rounds at Washington University in St. Louis, University of North Carolina and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In her spare time, Dr. Osemwota volunteers providing medical education at the local Homeless Shelter, and mentors high school and medical students. She enjoys spending time with her family. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, Women's Dermatologic Society and Skin of Color Society.
