About Nipa R. Thakkar, DMD
Dr. Nipa Thakkar, a second-generation dentist and New York native, is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. She holds a BS in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Masters in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Oral Biology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed her General Practice Residency at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA. Dr. Thakkar is a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania in the West Chester area as the special arts/technology project coordinator, where she continues teaching art as she did prior to attending dental school. She also volunteers as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Philadelphia area. In addition to learning the Pankey philosophy for clinical excellence in dentistry, Dr. Thakkar is on the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia County Dental Society and is currently the Chair of the American Dental Association’s New Dentist Committee. She has completed the ADA Diversity in Leadership program in 2014 and was the inaugural recipient to the ADA Henry Schein Cares Dr. David Whiston Leadership Award in 2015. Dr. Thakkar graduated dental school as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and a recipient of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry’s Community Dentistry Award. Dr. Thakkar’s dental focus is to treat patients the way she would treat her family. Her attention to detail and her emphasis on cosmetic, esthetic, and functional dental outcomes for her patients is unsurpassed. Dr. Thakkar has trained under Dr. Swenda to provide gentle, comprehensive, and optimal dental care using state-of-the-art technology for every patient that she sees.
