About Netsanet Temesgen, DDS
Dr. Netsanet Temesgen is a native Austinite. Born to an Ethiopian father and an American mother, Dr. Temesgen has a true appreciation for cultural diversity and travel. Her love for travel led her to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where she achieved her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS degree) in 2003. While attending dental school in Michigan, Dr. Temesgen was one of only 33 students in the U.S. to be recognized as a National Health Service Corp Scholar. This scholarship was an honor not only because of the organization’s elite status, but also because it recognizes kind and caring providers with a passion for treating the underserved. From the first time you speak with Dr. Temesgen, you will probably notice her compassionate nature and cheerful personality. Dr. Temesgen’s commitment as a scholar took her to Oklahoma after graduating from dental school, where she spent the next two years serving the underprivileged communities of Tulsa and Nowata. After learning and growing a lot from her experiences there, Dr. Temesgen returned to Austin to get married and start a family. Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Temesgen holds her greatest as that of a wife and mother. Her family is top priority and she understands the important roles trust, honesty, communication, education, and support play in the foundation of secure relationships. Her dedication to these values and the relationships she develops with her patients help to set her apart. She takes pride in being a doctor you can count on and trust. Dr. Temesgen’s professional memberships include the American Dental Association, Co-Founder of the Greater Austin Area Chapter for the Christian Medical and Dental Association, Fellow with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, 2012/2014 nomination and entry into America’s Guide of Top Dentists, currently training with the Las Vegas Institute of Neuromuscular Dentistry, and she is listed in the Cambridge Who’s Who Registry.
