About Natasha F. Carter, MD
Natasha Carter, MD PhD is a board certified Dermatologist who completed her residency training in dermatology at The University of California San Diego. Prior to coming to San Diego, she graduated from medical school at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon and she completed her PhD in immunology at Oxford University in the UK. She trained in a cancer immunotherapy lab and takes a special interest is using the immune system to fight cancers in the skin. Given her background in immunology, Dr. Carter also specializes in treating immune-mediated skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and rare blistering diseases. Dr. Carter is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatologist and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. Dr. Carter has a long track record of community service. She volunteered on a special project during her residency to remove gang-related tattoos from former gang member to help them secure meaningful employment and reintegrate into society. She served as a volunteer physician at local free clinics where she treated uninsured and underinsured families. Dr. Carter came to San Diego with her husband in 2015. They both fell in love with the community here and decided to stay to raise their two young children. They enjoy exploring the city, beaches, and parks together as a family.
