About Munjal P. Patel, MD
Dr. Munjal P. Patel was raised in New Jersey. It is here where he received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Biology in 1995 at the prominent Rutgers College, where he graduated at the top of his class. He then obtained his medical degree in 1999 from the highly respected UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Following graduation, Dr. Patel went to New York to pursue training in both general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery at the world renowned New York-Presbyterian Hospital. At the hospital’s Cornell and Columbia campuses, Dr. Patel worked with some of the most highly skilled surgeons in the country. Also, during this time, he obtained additional reconstructive and cosmetic surgery experience at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, and Lenox Hill Hospital. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Patel has conducted significant basic science and clinical research related to plastic surgery. He has presented at regional and national meetings and published scholarly articles in cosmetic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
