About Mimi V. Johnson, DDS
I think dentistry is an art, and I’ve enjoyed creating beautiful pieces of artwork every day since 1985! My goal is to learn about each individual’s desires when it comes to their dental health, and exceed those expectations at every turn. There is nothing better than seeing the joy in a patient’s face when I’m able to improve their smile and self-esteem! I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to California, where I grew up and completed high school. I moved back to Atlanta to attend Spelman College, earning my Bachelor of Science degree. From there, I attended Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, receiving my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. I believe in keeping up with the latest advances in dentistry; I am always excited to learn new things in the field. In order to keep abreast of the new innovations in the field of dentistry, I attend over 75 hours of continuing education annually. I am a certified CPR instructor and all my staff members are CPR certified. After graduating from dental school, I moved to the Chicago area and currently reside in Oak Park, IL with my husband, Jay. In my free time, I enjoy golf, golf, and more golf! I also love music, reading, theater and doing almost anything outdoors. Nothing beats fresh air and beautiful scenery! Every summer we sponsor the Adult Reading Program at the Bellwood Public Library; and for several years I was very active in Literacy Volunteers of America, tutoring adults and seniors in reading. I am an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Broadview Toastmasters, and Tee Timers Golf League.
